#3 · Oct 27, 2020 No codes. I opened the air box and discovered a white powder coating the air cleaner tube. I seems the filter was stopped up. it looked perfect and had been replaced. I cleaned everything up, blew out the filter and it runs fine. I'm 99% sure the filter came in a Polaris service kit.SOURCE: My 2007 polaris 450 sportsman used to start with the pull start 2nd pull,now it starts for a couple seconds and stalls ,does this three or 4 x then starts and runs fine,by the way it won't start with Could be time to replace battery, this is most likely the culprit. Take the air box cover off, and dump a 1/4 of a cup of gas in it, and hit the key. It should fire on that. Starting fluid helps it, but the problem is getting the air fuel mixture right. If so then the solenoid is bad. Or measure the voltage at the starter with the start button engaged. 2013 polaris xp 900 ranger, engine light comes on while driving and you loose all power. Sounds like an electrical problem. Make sure that the battery is good and the connections tight. Also check the circuit breakers. If they are weak and over heat they will cut the power and when they cool off, all is well.Put it all the way into the boot and hold it a small distance, like 1/16" or so from the block. Crank the engine and see if a nice spark jumps from the screwdriver to metal ground. If you have a spark that way, but not with the plug, replace the plug. For $5 its the first thing you should do any way.
