Assembled the trotten underframe and positioned it on the desk top. Figured out where the frame needed to be positioned so that the sit/stand mechanism was accessible. Marked all the hole locations (12 in total. 8 for the legs and 4 for the brackets that support the crank handle) Drilled all of the holes to a depth of 3/8" using a 7/64 drill bit. I just picked up the short one with square metal legs. Cut about 3 inches off each leg with my dremel, ground and filed the rough edges down. I'm waiting for some plastic & rubber pipe plugs to arrive to cap the ends so it doesn't scratch my floor, but all in all it went pretty well.I m planning to buy a computer desk which I will be putting the CPU on top of the table as well. Still figuring out how. The Skarsta top is the predecessor to the Trotten, but it’s the cardboard interior so not quite as sturdy. You can buy any solid top (from ikea or elsewhere) and drill the holes you need to mount it on the frame.
