horizon walker is bad because it's good features are 7th and 15th level, (and are the defensive ones) which are much less important than the features you need to be getting at 3rd and 11th level (which are the aggressive ones) that's because 5e is a damage race, tanking is bad to impossible, (and healing doesnt do enough)Horizon Walker is one of the Ranger subclasses that really doesn’t want Hunter’s Mark, which means you get to pick spells that are useful in combat and might even be worth a whole action to cast (especially if you’re willing to invest ASIs in WIS to keep your DC decent).
