I ordered and received a marine Holley rebuild kit for my 4160 carburetor (list # 50419-1) from Summit. The kit came with all the correct gaskets, needles and seats, seals, etc,... My fuel bowls are the "non-adjustable" float type so the fuel bowls must be off of the carburetor to adjust the float level. I installed 3 new holley carbs on my 427, it has alu. heads and 11 to 1 compress. The intake is 3919852. Runs like an internal fuel leak or vac leak, revs up fine but slow coming down. When adjusting the fuel/air mix screws it will not shut off motor. Also the lever on the rear throttle shaft drags on the intake manifold.Here we have a 650 double pumper ( dual accelerator pumps) Holley carburetor with the float bowl level of fuel set too high on one side and too low on the ot...The instructions from the carb kit say; Float level adjustment; Hold the top plate upside down, measure from the air horn to the bottom of the float 1- 11/32". I set it to that. It has almost no travel. Float drop adjustment; Hold the top plate right side up measure 1-7/16" from the air horn to the bottom of the float.
The fuel flow per float bowl needs to be in the region of 0.5 lb/hour/ hp for gasoline, about 0.8 for ethanol or E85, and 1.3 for alcohol.
