Been trying for a while and it seems impossible. Mine worked and actually said vizio soundbar. It let me change volume and mute. Now all of a sudden I have no control of the soundbar unless I use the soundbar remote. Setting my Visio sound bar up by connecting it through ARC did this automatically. The Sony remote has no universal remote capabilities. The optical out of a TV requires that volume be adjusted at the speaker or receiver end, not from the TV.
