You'll need to set up a stone next to a camp full of weak enemies and farm them for a bit. Also for unknown reasons the thaumaturgy table only has 1 crafting slot, meaning you cannot queue multiple crafts. You have to wait until one page is done then manually click to start the next.

To anyone still having this problem, it seems to grey out the crafting option just for tome of kurak if you are over encumbered. Tested it on a gathering build and sure enough, when encumberance is below 100%, the "Craft" button is no longer greyed out. Edit: actually its because the craft is a ritual.
