I installed a saginaw 4 speed out of a pontiac astre (vega) in my 69 chevy shortbed.I used the factory pontiac shifter,which did not bolt to the trans,but it bolted to the floor of the vehicle.I did a little modifying on the shifter rods and bolted the shifter to the truck floor.#1 · Mar 26, 2011. Jun 18, 2014 · Don't know if fits the Saginaw, but GM uses a little green top, plastic drive-into a 5/16"hole, vent assembly on lots of applications-transfer cases /rear ends /manual transmissions. If you have a GM dealer with a patient partsman , he can find it. My auto trans warehouse also has them , maybe try a local rebuilder.
